Subimal Datta is a world-renowned expert in the neurobiology of sleep and cognitive neuroscience. His research focuses on basic and translational questions examining the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying regulation of sleep, learning and memory, social behavior, addiction, depression, and anxiety disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder. His work has been published widely in top national and international scientific journals, books, and encyclopedias in his field. He has trained professional level, undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from the US and many countries abroad in his state-of-the-art research laboratories. The National Institutes of Health and pharmaceutical industries have funded his research projects.
