Soren Sorensen is a professor in experimental nuclear physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He studies hot and dense nuclear matter at the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator, based at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva, Switzerland. He also is working to help improve diversity at the university through a committee that is focused on the hiring and retention of diverse faculty and staff.
