Peter Gross is an expert in international communication and international media, especially that of Eastern Europe. His work has taken across Europe and to former Soviet republics, as well as to Taiwan, India, China, and Cuba. He taught at the US Department of State's National Foreign Affairs Training Center and carried out assessment assignments on behalf of the US Information Agency and Freedom Forum. He received a Fulbright fellowship as well as lecture and training awards and grants from Harvard University's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press; Politics and Public Policy; the National Academy of Sciences; the International Research and Exchanges Board; the International Media Fund; the Soros Foundation; the German Marshall Fund of the United States; the Freedom Forum; and the National Science Foundation. In 1996, he was a research fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He is the author and co-author of seven books.
