Michael Berry serves as the director of the Center for Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning, whose focus is on developing programs and platforms capable of reacting to their environment and learning. He is an authority in data mining, the process of finding patterns and conclusions in seemingly otherwise innocuous data, often for use in business. He also conducts business analytics and data indexing and retrieval. He is a member of several engineering societies, has won multiple faculty awards and is on the editorial board for three publications.
