Dwight Aarons leads the university's Innocence Clinic and focuses his scholastic work in criminal law, criminal procedure, and death penalty. Aarons's particular area of scholarly interest is the death penalty. He has consulted on capital cases in California and Tennessee and has written amicus briefs to Tennessee appellate courts on criminal law issues. He has engaged in numerous activities at the state, local, and national levels. Prior to coming to UT's College of Law, he was a staff attorney for the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
