Ashleigh Huffman is the founding assistant director of the UT Center for Sport, Peace, and Society, a professor of sociocultural studies of sport, and a consultant to the US Department of State on international sport for development, peace, and women's empowerment. She specializes in the study of service-learning and using sport-based initiatives to empower underserved communities. Her international work includes women's empowerment and peace-building projects in China, Israel, Palestine, and Zimbabwe.
